Is it a contradiction to have a Turkish blog title while writing in English? No, I think it is not. The real issue here is not knowing which language you’re going to write. The worst is I am no better in Turkish on syntax than I am in English.
In fact, I watched the video again and I didn’t find it impulsive at all. I really don’t know I’d overdramatize by describing it “a sad story of a prostitute”. But, it is. It’s all about where you concentrate. Shame on me.
I’m truly afraid that listening or watching ‘the’ things of Michel Gondry will be my sweet obsession one day. Anyway, this comes from the movie called The Science of Sleep. It has same daydreaming and surrealistic taste as Eternal Sunshine did. Ooh, meanwhile, I think the song is done by Charlotte Gainsbourg.(Just an another chain in my Gainsbourg complexation) It’s called “Theme Generique Fin Golden the Pony Boy”
"Ugliness is in a way superior to beauty because it lasts." — Serge Gainsbourg
Abartilmislik’tan bahseylemiyorum: Mina Urgan’in Yahya Kemal hakkinda bahsettigi hayal kirikligina benziyor bu: ‘Yahya Kemal’i sadece sanatiyla taniyanlara gipta ediyorum’.
Isimlerini bu kadar duydugum adamlarin gercek hayatlarinda takinmis olabilecekleri shmuckimsi portreleri olmasalar bile bilme olasigilindan israrla kaciyorum, bilmemezlige veriyorum. Dur bakalim hayirlisi
As matter of fact, I was nervous. Because I really remember thinking about thinking of putting some songs that I was listening for long time might be a mistake. Because you know, they’re the past for you now and you immediately think of them as gestures of nostalghia. Oh, actually, I remember remembering that I did think so. Ooh, another miracle of Human Mind (this may imply to sound like an Evangelical-Pastor. Because it intends to do so)
Anyway, since Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is destined to be a reference movie of touchy love writings and ‘love-is-everything’ conversations, I had thought that its songs has already been CONSUMED by the writer of such writings. But I think I was wrong. Regardless of its consumers, listeners, watchers and in spite of its situation (whether it’s consumed or neglected by mass media), ANYTHING is able to be a subject of my blog.[In fact, I still behold the uncertain persona in me. Although I said that a piece of art can be analysed regardless of its lovers, I think I may neglect the concept of ‘context’ in arts. Though, no, fuck it, I shan’t elaborate this matter and its questions]
In brief, I put some songs from the soundtrack of the movie and I really like imagining you like it. Thank you Jon Brion.
